The River Clyde Pageant

  • 2827 New Glasgow Road New Glasgow, PE, C0A 1N0 Canada (map)

I am incredibly excited to be participating in the 2024 River Clyde Pageant. I am overflowing with creative energy thanks to the workshops and rehearsals, and I can’t wait to share what we’ve been making.

Pageant Performances are July 25th - 28th and August 1st - 4th at 7:30pm

From the website: The River Clyde Pageant: A Flicker in the Field deepens the narrative of the 2023 Pageant, exploring themes of disruption, transformation, and the constellations that connect us all. Drawing inspiration from storms, from spectacles both celestial and human-made, and from the intricate networks of mycelium beneath us and human connections above, this year’s Pageant is a celebration of connection and resilience. Gathering at a vibrant wildflower field beside the River Clyde, audiences will embark on a festive procession that winds downhill and settles within a living stage crafted from windfall from Hurricane Fiona and woven willow branches. The space will come alive with stilt-walkers, giant puppets, dancers, musicians and performers of all ages, in a performance that sparks delight, contemplation, and wonder.

Pageant Poster designed by Krista Wells. Image ID: The Pageant 2024 poster image, with text that reads: “The River Clyde Pageant, A Flicker in the Field”. The artwork is circular, set against a dusty blue background, and the image depicts four silhouetted trees rising up from a strip of red land, with twisted roots and mycelia extending underground. In the centre of the image are three balloons, orange, red and yellow, floating above green hills and water. The sky is dark blue and is filled with starry constellations.
